It's Finally July!

Hi everyone! I cannot even begin to tell you how much I miss blogging, checking social media, and even reading emails! To sum things up…I miss technology! Camp has been fun for the most part and the other counselors I’ve met have been my saving grace! Adjusting to a new lifestyle (even if it’s only for two months) can be very stressful and scary! I adore the girls in my bunk! They are all very sweet (most of the time) and I definitely got lucky! Some of the stories I hear from other counselors make me appreciate the girls I have. For example, two counselors have quit due to how crazy their girls were! One thing is for sure though; this experience has made me excited about my future career in education! Now that I’ve spent more time with 13 year olds, it has made me realize that teaching middle school or junior high might not be as bad as I once thought. (I think I was simply going back in time and remembering the awkwardness of those years haha). All in all, I think teaching that age group will be a lot different than being a student in that age group!

In my free time, I finished Divergent by Veronica Roth! It was very entertaining, and I highly recommend this book especially to those that loved the Hunger Games! The rights to the movie have been bought so I wanted to make sure I read the book (and the sequel, Insurgent, that came out in May!). For my next read, I picked up Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. I am only on page 72, but I am officially hooked and plan on reading more of her books!

Here's a little bit of my life lately in pictures! I wish I could take more, but I can't have my phone while I'm on duty (which is all day, every day except every other night off...now you understand why I miss technology so much!)

Casual OOTD during a day trip to Portland!

What my bunk looks like nearly every day...card decks everywhere!

 Harvard Square!

July 4th celebration (excuse the double XL t shirt from walmart) with some other counselors!

 Until next time! xoxo
